      My Avanti is fine for the price I paid. I'm a small senior lady living in a small space. I don't need high speed or high style. The Avanti is light enough for me to put inside my house. The folding function is quite smooth and efficient. More expensive bikes fold into a leaner profile, but the Avanti is adequate. Though it's good for street riding, tire grip is uncertain on crushed rock/dirt bike paths. Overall, pretty good for exercise and errands.

      Vendor was very good, shipped on time with extra packaging and responded quickly to inquiries via e-mail. Bike itself is plagued by a few rather quirky and poorly engineered parts compared to my other folding bike (which did cost more than twice as much, so it's only fair to expect some cheaper parts on this unit). Mostly I have had to spend much more time than expected "tuning", including brakes, derailleur, wheel truing, etc. The front stem folding mechanism is very poorly made and requires constant adjustment to keep the stem tight in the upright position.. I have yet to resolve a clunking problem with the derailleur, but have not called the "tech rep" yet so hope that will solve that. Overall, it would be hard to beat this bike for the cost if you are capable of doing a fair amount of tuning yourself upon delivery and don't plan to ride it any long distances. Folds nicely and is relatively lightweight.

      My husband and I bought an Avanti (no front suspension) and a Turismo (front suspension). I'm glad we got both because I like the Turismo, the front suspension is less jarring on rough sidewalks / roads. My husband prefers the Avanti. Both bikes are well constructed and came mostly assembled. It took about 15 minutes from unpacking to riding. You can't beat these for the price.

Riders beware - I had a bad experience with this seller. The bike was shipped with assembly required - which I understood. However, the bike arrived with a bent frame, broken brake cables, and two dented fenders. Several weeks of inquiries have failed to produce either return service or a refund.

I was able to fix the bent frame and live with the dented fenders, but I will have to replace the broken brake cable to ride this bike if I cannot get it returned.

Also - the handlebars do not fold down. Therefore, the bike does not fold as small as other similarly priced items available on this site.

I would recommend the silver bike with the Shimano accessories for $129 listed when you search "folding bikes". A friend purchased one recently and it rides nearly as well as a Dahon.

Great value for your money. They sent the wrong book in the box, but for me the set-up was simple and straight-forward. I took it for a spin on hilly and flat terrain and had no problems. The gears shift smoothly and it's rides well. I like the extra long fenders, which will keep me clean when riding in rain or snow. I wish it had a device that can hold it together when it's folded, since it has the tendency to open up, but I can also get a bungee cord to keep it together. All in all, it's a nice looking bike that functions well.

First off all, I think all of the cries about this bike "coming with the wrong instrusctions" and "being hard to assemble" is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. The bike was incredably easy to assemble, and I never even looked at the instructions. I hope no one else is scared away from this product (like I almost was) because of ridiculous complaints about assembling the bike- I did it in 20 minutes with no bike assembly experience. With that said, I love this bike and the price. The only reason it gets a 4 out of 5 and not a perfect score is because it would have been nice if the handlebar was easier to remove for storage. I just keep the tool that came with it in a pouch strapped to the bike at all times, and use it to remove it when i need to. On my first ride in nyc, it begain to rain very hard. I was able to quickly fold up the bike and hop on a train home. Bike came double boxed with no damage to it in any form. Real easy to open up and ride away right out of box. NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! These fold up bike rode like a real bike. I took them camping with me for those long walks to the bathroom. The handled hills and dirt roads without a problem. Good purchase.

This is the second folding bike I have purchased. For the money you get a solid bike with Shimano components. The bike came assembled, packaged nicely in a box, except I did have to pump up the tires. The handle bars are interesting, on the plus size they are adjustable and emulate a regular bicycle quite well, on the down side they have to be removed (with a little lever than remains attached at all times) to fold up the bike. The kick stand is also a bit difficult to operate but it is heavy duty. Overall I would recommend the bike for an adult 5'+, they should throw in the bike cover for free. Also, depending on your bike, you may have to have your Shimano derailer adjusted at a local bike shop, mine has trouble switching into first gear.

The bike is awesome. I ordered the red and firstly i must say it looks gorgeous. Just a beautiful bike, alot lighter than i expected too. Upon its arrival i was able to mount it up in about half an hour. After a test spin i did some adjustments of the gears,and seat and that was it. I usually ride in the afternoons or nights after work, and I've been getting a lot of compliments. Everyone of my friends that took it for a spin were completely blown away by how smooth it rides. They went hysterical when i showed them how it folds. I already recommended this product to them. It cost me a bit to ship it because i live in the Caribbean but it was definitely worth it. I'm gonna install some lights on spokes to enhance it and as a precautionary for my night riding and that will be it.
