New 20" Folding Bicycle SHIMANO 6 Speed Bike Fold Storage Silver Reviews
This review is from: New 20" Folding Bicycle SHIMANO 6 Speed Bike Fold Storage Silver (Misc.)
Just received bike today. Overall the quality is what I was expecting, poor but acceptable considering the price. I was disappointed at the assembly. Everything was way out of adjustment right out of the box. Brakes were not useable, the headset was dangerously loose, both fenders were adjusted tightly against the wheels, the brake levers were lose on the handle bars, etc... After about 1/2hr I got most of that squared away. Then I went for a brief test ride. The chain rubs on the frame in the first and second gears, seems to be a design flaw. It looks like the frame was meant for a single speed and there ends up to be clearance issues on the larger gearing. So it is really a 4 speed as the 1 and 2 are not usable. The folding mechanisms seem to work well enough, but the safety latch on the main frame does not work at all.
The finish on the bike was OK. The stripes are stickers, on one side they were flawless and the other they are crooked and have folds in them... Read more

I bought 2 of these last week and they arrived in 2 days. The bikes were well packed and no damage. There were no instructiosn but it was simple to unwrap and then snap together with 2 clamps, one in the middle of the frame and one on the front fork. The paint job is excellent and the allow wheels look great. The bike seems sturdy (the maximum 250lbs rider weight might be a stretch) and the included rack is sturdy. Overall I am very pleased with what I got for the price. I checked all the small wheel folding bikes on Amazon and e-bay and this looked like the best deal (i wasn't going to spend $600 and up), although there were no reviews so I hope this helps. It weights 30 lb so i will need to help my girlfiend when we travel on trains and buses with them, that's why we bought them. I've had trouble when the full size bike racks were full. Note it will not fit in an airplane overhead bin. I haven't given them a good ride yet and I'll have to see how they endure but I recommend... Read more

I wanted a bike I could easily fold and put into my car. I tried a Dahon at a local bike store and it took some muscle to fold (at twice the price). So after lots of research and banking on Japanese craftsmanship (I drive a Honda car & Suzuki motorcycle), I bought this one. It arrived in great shape (except didn't have air in tires). I unfolded it (some directions would have been good so was glad for my bike store experience). But then I'm a mechanically challenged blonde. Still, can fold and unfold in less than a minute. I ride in 6th gear on flat ground and it's quite easy (wish it gave a touch more resistance) but still, overall for the price and foldability this rocks!

This is a very fun little novelty bike that is well made and sturdy but it is geared so low that it is completely impractical for actual use as a commuter bike. The rider must peddal constantly just to maintain brisk walking speed. However, it is a blast to ride around the house or the neighborhood and you'll definitely get some looks, especially if you lower the handlebars and seat all the way. It is a fun novelty but not for someone looking for an actual commuter bike.

It rides like a regular bike, it might not look like one:). The saddle might need to be replaced for more comfortable seating. I was told these bikes would be harder to balance because of its small wheels, but it's perfectly fine. I feel pretty safe on it. For the price it is amazing. I bought this so I can bring it to different places and ride around for fun. It's not the fastest bike but it is faster than you think. I dont think it's the easiest to fold or lightest to carry around so if you are looking to ride it to the bus station or subway and take it with you everyday, I say forget it unless you don't mind the hassle or carrying 26lbs all day. There's a bike out there called 'A-bike' that might be good for this purpose with half of its weight. However I think it's sold for a lot more. This is a great deal! Make sure you put air in the tires before rocking on it. You don't have to be a circus clown to ride it. It's pretty smooth and a lot of fun!

This bike is not so bad. It does ride just like a regular bike though you do have to pedal a lot more because of the 8in wheels. It is a fun bike to ride around the neighborhood in, riding it for long periods of time wouldn't be ideal though. I would have to say its a pretty good commuter bike if you don't live or work so far from the train or bus station. For the most part it is a fun novelty bike to ride around in. Serious bike riders and bike commuters that want more speed will probably have to pass on this. But all and all a fun awesome bike to have specially when you do not have a lot of space in your apartment.

When Dahon released the widely popular Mu Uno folding bike they found that the simple one-speed design was widely popular with urban commuters. It's simple, lightweight, and even looks cool. The Dahon Speed Uno folding bike is a newer, simpler design that is even more affordable. At 24 lbs, the Speed Uno folding bike is one of Dahon's lightest bikes. One of the reasons for this is the single speed with a rear coaster brake. Just like the bike you had when you were a kid, pedal backward to stop the bike with a skid. Folding and unfolding has never been easier or more secure! Dahon's DoubleLok means that every latch has a secondary lock for maximum safety, which also serves as a reminder to make sure the latch is properly secured before riding. And thanks to Dahon's simple and ingenious magnetic latching system that holds the bike neatly together when folded, when you lift or carry this bike it stays together in one neat package. You'll really appreciate this when you're carrying it upstairs, running to catch a bus or lifting the bike into a car trunk. Without brake cables and shifter cables, this bike touts the utmost simplicity. There is practically nothing to adjust or maintain, so for a flat commute, it's a great option. For this price, you won't find another folding bike that's worth riding. Customers can mail in their warranty registration card to: Dahon 833 Meridian Street Duarte, CA 91010 attn: Warranty

I bought this bike to ride around my base in Iraq. Figured I could take it on to Afghanistan, and then home, quite easily, and really get my moneys worth. Better than the cheap bikes they sell on base. The bike came in the US Mail extremely fast, under a week, very impressive! It popped together pretty quickly, you might need a wrench to get the one pedal attached, I got it with my fingers. The bike is well put together, I am pleased with the quality of what I paid for. It looks good, more like a BMX or Freestyle bike than your typical folding "clown bike". I like the simplicity of it, no cables or gears, which is fine for riding here in the flat desert. The matte black color is cool, but there are plenty of reflectors on it, so you can be seen at night. Nice flat pedals, good for normal shoes. I like the low crossbar, makes the bike more like a step through scooter, which is nice when you are wearing slacks or heavy work pants. I found it to be kind of twitchy... Read more

I have never rode any public transportation system in the US before (other than bus in my childhood years during summer breaks) but I recently started to look into this option for a new awesome job that is in another county.
I own this bike for like 2 days and it's already a conversation starter on the Metro-link train station, university shuttle buses and students on campus. I over heard the lady shuttle bus driver talking to another girl, "look at this folding bike? what else will they come up with next?" I kind of chuckled and smiled. Everyone, myself included loves the elegance and simplicity of its design and how clean/quick it folds/unfolds. The first time I didn't know exactly where to apply initial pressure to open and close the main frame but after only a day, I can do it in less than 10 seconds fold/unfold. One of the YouTube video shows during folding the D7HG Vitesse to lower the seat first but I found with my Speed Uno, it's best to lower the seat last,... Read more

My husband bought me this Dahon bike for my birthday. What an amazing surprise. It is so cool looking and it rides great. It is so compact that I can throw it into the trunk of my prius and ride anywhere I want. I use it on my lunch break to ride around LA and not have to worry about parking. On the weekends I can pop on the train and go to Santa Barbara and ride around. The opportunities are endless. It is such a great conversation piece, as everyone asks me about it when they see it. Folding bikes are super cool.
I could not be happier with this bike.
Take two they're small.
