She now has a bloody knee. It takes a lot of effort and is more or less unpleasant to keep these things balanced. If the street you are going down is crowned, as ours are, then with every pump of the pedals one of the back wheels will lift off the ground, tending to throw you off. The handlebar column wobbles all over the place, even when you tighten it according to the directions. When you get the thing going, you can go perhaps 10 mph. It is OK, but like a stepper machine, a lot of work. It is not fun. Oh, and wear a helmet and knee and elbow pads. These things are hard to control and seem flimsy to me. I don't get the feeling that it will last long. Basically, I didn't like it. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful By SandiS "Buyer" (Northern CA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Pedal Powered Scooter 180lb max (Misc.) This gives you a REAL workout. Of course it may be that I'm an adult doing it vs a kid, just having fun. Have to be careful 'cause stem (to handlebars) has some 'give' so feel a little nervous. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Penny Scheff (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Pedal Powered Scooter 180lb max (Misc.) The box it arrived in looked well travelled but the Pumgo seemed to be in new condition. I bought it to exercise during the daylight hours when running is difficult for me, and walking and biking can put me to sleep. It was a very good workout for my knees and calves. Strangely, my arms got very sore and tired quickly and required me to take breaks. I run very slowly so I'm not surprised that I Pumgo slowly but the effect on my arms is discouraging. I wear protective gear that I bought after I smashed into the pavement while riding my Trikke. Sincerely, Penny Sue Scheff 2020 Nicollet Ave S #328 Mpls MN 55404 |
